Optimising Construction Logistics: How Hub360 is Reducing Carbon Emissions and Streamlining Deliveries
Hub360, a cutting-edge software platform, is transforming logistics management in the construction industry by optimising deliveries for companies that operate their own fleets or use third-party hauliers. With a focus on reducing inefficiencies and carbon emissions, Hub360 is helping businesses streamline operations, enhance delivery processes, and drive sustainable practices. By continually introducing new features and modules, Hub360 is generating recurring revenues and deepening its impact with existing clients.
John O'Neill, co-founder of Hub360, shared insights into how the platform is reshaping the construction supply chain by addressing inefficiencies often overlooked in traditional logistics management. “We’re tackling the inefficiencies that arise when manufacturers and suppliers in the construction industry deliver directly to customers, whether using their own fleet or subcontracting,” said O’Neill. “Many are still relying on manual, paper-based management processes with little transparency over daily operations.”
O'Neill explained that inefficiencies exist at every stage of the delivery process in construction logistics, particularly in managing fuel consumption. “Scheduling and routing are often not optimised, trucks are underutilised, and there is significant idle time while waiting to offload. These issues contribute to major inefficiencies,” he added.
Highlighting the environmental impact, O'Neill pointed out that heavy-duty vehicles account for around a quarter of CO2 emissions from road transport in the EU, with large lorries contributing up to 70% of these emissions. Hub360 is committed to helping reduce this environmental burden by offering full visibility and management of deliveries, turning manual processes into streamlined, automated workflows. This approach allows companies to process and deliver more orders efficiently while cutting down on carbon emissions.
Hub360’s platform enables companies to modernise their delivery systems, providing real-time management of sales orders and delivery logistics. This shift from paper-based operations to automated, data-driven processes creates a more efficient and eco-friendly delivery system, optimising the movement of goods and materials across the supply chain.
O'Neill and co-founder Denise O’Kelly believe that resilience and adaptability are key to success in entrepreneurship. “It’s a tough, long sales process that requires patience,” O’Neill said, reflecting on the challenges of navigating the ever-evolving construction industry.
As the co-founders look to the future, they emphasise the importance of staying ahead of industry trends and technological advancements. "We must maintain a comprehensive understanding of areas such as security, cloud computing, mobile technologies, and industry developments," said O'Neill. "Remaining agile and anticipating changes is critical to our ongoing success."
O’Kelly added that the entrepreneurial journey is filled with uncertainty and risk, but it also presents exciting opportunities for innovation. “Trusting your instincts, keeping an open mind, and committing to lifelong learning are essential to succeeding in this space,” O’Neill concluded.
With a clear focus on efficiency, sustainability, and innovation, Hub360 is leading the way in transforming logistics management in the construction sector, driving both economic and environmental benefits for companies across the industry.
